# Features

`_features.conf` configures which Wallet API v2 features are enabled at service startup. The [feature manager](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/feature-manager.md) reads this file before loading feature-specific configuration.

**Note:**

Feature changes apply only after a service restart.

## Fields

### `enabledFeatures`

_String[]_ — Optional features to enable.

Supported values:

- **`wallet2-persistence`** — SQL persistence (SQLite or PostgreSQL) for wallets, keys, DIDs, and credentials. Loads [wallet2-persistence.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/persistence.md). The shipped config enables it for SQLite persistence.
- **`auth`** — Email/password authentication and account-to-wallet ownership. Loads [auth.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/auth.md). When enabled, new authenticated wallets are linked to the current account and wallet routes enforce ownership.
- **`dev-mode`** — Development mode. Loads [dev-mode.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/dev-mode.md). This feature is currently a no-op; the service does not read it yet.
- **`transaction-data-profiles`** — [OpenID4VP](https://docs.walt.id/concepts/data-exchange-protocols/openid4vp.md) transaction-data type registry and discovery. Loads [transaction-data-profiles.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/transaction-data-profiles.md). **Enabled by default.**

### `disabledFeatures`

_String[]_ — Features to explicitly disable.

Use this when you need to override a default-enabled optional feature (for example `transaction-data-profiles`). The standard infrastructure features (web server, OpenAPI/Swagger, and health checks) are provided by the framework and enabled by default; the web server is configured via [web.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/web.md).

## Base Features

Base features are always enabled and do not need to be listed in `_features.conf`.

- **`wallet-service`** — Core wallet service for wallet, key, DID, and credential APIs. Loads [wallet-service.conf](https://docs.walt.id/community-stack/wallet2/configurations/config-files/wallet-service.md).
