# HTTP Client

`httpclient.conf` selects the Ktor HTTP engine used for outbound calls (OIDC discovery, credential offers, webhooks, and similar fetches). The `httpclient` feature is **enabled by default**.

## Example File

```hocon[httpclient.conf]
globalDefault = {
    http: CIO  # CIO / Java / Apache5 / OkHttp / Native
}
```

## Fields

### `globalDefault.http`

_String_ — HTTP engine for new outbound clients. Supported values: `CIO`, `Java`, `Apache5`, `OkHttp`, `Native`.

`CIO` is the usual production choice on the JVM.

### `service`

_Object, optional_ — Per-service overrides keyed by service name. Omit it unless you need a different engine or timeout profile for a specific caller. Each entry uses the same shape as `globalDefault`.
