Ensured Response Time
ensured-response-time.conf sets timeouts for instrumented API operations. If the file is missing, the API uses abortOnTimeout = false and defaultTimeout = 5s.
When a timeout is exceeded and abortOnTimeout is false, the request continues and a warning is logged. When abortOnTimeout is true, the request is aborted and the client receives a timeout error.
Example File
ensured-response-time.conf
# if set to true, handling of the request will be aborted if it takes longer than the specified timeout duration (client will receive a timeout response).
# If false, the request will continue to be processed even after the timeout has been reached.
abortOnTimeout = false
defaultTimeout = 5s
# operation-specific timeouts (overrides default timeout for the specified operation)
operationTimeout = {
"receive-credentials-full": 10s
}
Fields
abortOnTimeout
Boolean — Whether to abort the request when the timeout is exceeded. Default is false.
defaultTimeout
Duration — Default timeout for instrumented operations, for example 5s. Default is 5s.
operationTimeout
Object — Map of operation name to timeout. Keys are internal operation names (for example "receive-credentials-full"). An entry overrides defaultTimeout for that operation only.
